Yup! You heard that right, Apple discontinues iMac Pro.
They’ll be available till the stocks last. App store removed all build-to-order configurations of the product.
Apple is expected to release a brand-new iMac line shortly, with next-generation Apple silicon CPUs and GPUs. The M1X chip's performance and efficiency would likely eliminate the need for Apple to split the iMac product line and simply provide competitive compute performance for all iMacs, obviating the need for a separate Pro model.
Apple has redesigned the regular iMac and marketed the 27-inch variant to the same demographic.
The model is currently the most common iMac among professional users, according to the company.
The device has effectively rendered the Pro obsolete, indicating that it will be phased out in the near future. Of course, at the high end of Apple's lineup, there's the latest Mac Pro.
Not to mention the Apple silicon-powered iMacs, which should be arriving soon. With its proprietary chips, Apple has redesigned the MacBook, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini so far.
New models of the 21.5-inch and 27-inch desktops are expected later this year, with a much-anticipated redesign.
